The City of Colony is a city of the 3rd Class in Anderson County.  The current 2024 population of the City of  Colony is 383 as certified to the Secretary of State by the Department of the Budget on July 1, 2025.

Originally named "Divide" in 1872, the town name was officially changed to Colony on March 4, 1885.  The City of Colony was incorporated in 1886.
